Cyclops is a totally legal driving aid using the latest GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) technology. It alerts you to the full range of fixed speed cameras/detection devices associated with accident hotspots and other speed sensitive areas. The Cyclops driver safety system delivers simple and clear audio-visual alerts up to 800 yards ahead of these locations, allowing you plenty of time to safely adjust your speed. Over 40% of all drivers have at one time or another received a speeding fine and penalty. Many of these are due to momentary lapses of concentration rather than wilful speeding. Cyclops is intended to ensure drivers maintain a safe speed at all times and is doing so keep a clean licence.
The Cyclops unit uses an internal database of the known locations of speed cameras in conjunction with GPS satellite positioning technology to provide highly focussed warnings with a minimum of nuisance alerts. The database is configured to deliver alerts only when travelling in the road direction covered by the speed camera. Speed cameras that can be rotated in either direction give an alert in both directions. Warnings are also tailored to take into account the nature of the road leading upto the speed camera site and will vary according to the presence of roundabouts and junctions on the approach to the camera site etc.

A nationwide field research team ensures that the Cyclops database is kept upto date with new speed cameras being continually added to the database as they are identified. Cyclops also has a record function which allows users to assist us with this process by recording new or revised locations for our research team to review.

Database updates and your reports of sites for investigation and used in conjunction with dialogue with the police to maintain the integrity of the database and updates can be obtained from a dedicated website by simply attaching the Cyclops to the back of your PC using the cable supplied. A free 12 month database update subscription is included with your purchase afterwhich the maintenance charge is £45 a year.
Cyclops unique digital waypoint mapping system delivers precise and reliable alerts, relating only to your actual route. So you will not be warned of a speed limit or safety camera that may be streets away from you.

Installation could not be simpler as the unit plugs into the cigarette lighter socket for power and mounts on the dashboard using Velcro strips supplied. In order to communicate with the GPS satellite system the unit needs to be able to see the sky above. For alternative mountings or in instances where a metallicised windscreen exists a waterproof external antenna can be purchased for £59.99.
* The Cyclops has a database of common laser sites rather than a laser sensor. This means its 100% legal and will remain legal regardless of the outcome of the Road Safety Bill
