Origin 360 is the longest established and most comprehensive UK speed camera database available.
GPS based speed camera location systems are only as good as the location information that is stored on them, therefore it is essential that your system uses the best there is.
Origin Technologies (makers of PogoAlert and PogoDrive) have long been the pioneers of GPS speed camera detection, so it's no surprise that the Origin 360 database leads the way in accuracy and consistency. The Origin 360 data collection team consists of mobile ‘field' based staff, as well as trained administrators based at Origin's London HQ.
The speed at which the Origin 360 team works is impressive. For instance, the target for adding new camera sites to our database is just 48hrs, most however are logged and updated within 24hrs.
Even when temporary cameras are installed in stretches of motorway roadworks, the Origin 360 team will have them plotted almost immediately. Often, of course, these temporary cameras move along with the roadworks, but our data collection team moves with them, re-plotting on a daily basis if necessary.
The Origin 360 database comprises of the most comprehensive number of location types imaginable, including: Gatso, Truvelo, Watchman, DS-2, Speedcurb, SPECs Average Speed Cameras, Mobile Laser sites, Mobile Camera Vans, Mobile Gatso and Truvelo Cameras, Accident Hotspots, High Risk Zones, Digital Cameras and Schools. Additionally, the database includes the Speed Limits at all these locations.
The Origin 360 database currently covers the UK and the Republic of Ireland. A database covering other European countries is currently under development.
Your Pogo Alert comes pre-loaded with the Origin 360 database, though we do recommend that users register their product and complete a download as soon as possible. Doing so will ensure that the most up-to-date data is available to your device.
