When Cheetah encounters a radar signal the warning LEDs in the lower panel will flash and an audible signal will be emitted. The faster the bleeping, the closer you are to the radar source. The audible level can be adjusted by the rotary volume control. When turned fully clockwise the volume control is in fully ‘Mute' position. Other electronic signals from petrol stations, traffic lights and large automatic door entry systems may trigger your Cheetah warning signals because they operate on the same frequency as speed cameras. During city driving these false alarms can be reduced by pressing the sensitivity button, selecting the low sensitivity (Town) setting – green LED. For motorway use ensure the unit is restored to full sensitivity and the volume control set to a comfortable audio level.

Mounting
The Cheetah is attached to the existing rear view mirror by spring loaded clips. Simply position the top two clips over the upper edge of the existing mirror and pull down to attach the bottom clips. 10 seconds - That's it! No adhesive pads, no sun visor clips, no suctions cups on the windscreen or dash, no messy wires to obstruct the driver's vision.

speedcheetah mounting

The unique and discreet design of the Cheetah speed trap detector means you don't need to remove it at the end of each journey. The Cheetah detector uses four mounting points to clip over most sizes and shapes of rear view mirror, so you can still use your sun visors.

speedcheetah mirror sensor

The radar sensor is on the right hand side of the back of the mirror. The Cheetah detector housing is shaped to provide the optimum sensor position for maximum detector efficiency. This should not be obstructed by a screen mounted antenna, metallic sun screen or any other objects. The sensor area is clearly labelled on the rear of the detector.

If your car is fitted with an auto-dimming rear view mirror this will be obscured. However, the Cheetah mirror has an effective anti-glare tint and a panoramic wide angle view which helps to eliminate rear blind spots.

Power Supply
speedcheetah powering

The Cheetah is supplied with an extra long, slim, power cord. This can be tucked under the trim above the windscreen, down the 'A' pillar and under the dash panel to the cigarette lighter.

The Cheetah comes complete with a two-way adaptor to allow continued use of a phone charger or cigarette lighter. Alternatively, it can be hard wired into the car's 12V power supply.
